Welcome to LinC-connect

The role of culture is changing

We – LinC’ers – note a shift within the cultural sector from knowledge institute to giver of meaning. The cultural sector holds up a mirror to people and asks: Where do we come from? What has shaped us? Who are we? What can we do to make the world a better place? By getting to know the other, we recognize him or her as a part of ourselves. We believe that connection should be the key concept in the cultural sector in everything we do. At the institutional level, we want to bring people together in a network based on our own role. This is possible by facilitating conversations between visitors, with art as the point of departure. But also by connecting artists or stage artists together and thus making a fist together for better working conditions. This work trip to England aims to share the new insights into the meaning of culture in a changing cultural climate and to investigate what our role as cultural leaders could be within larger social developments in the field of climate and quality of life.

Connection is the key

Connection is the starting point for every activity and every get together of our group. By having conversations with (potential) partners all around Europe, we hear from each other what works and what could be improved. This can lead to collaborations that give a new impulse to the cultural climate in the Netherlands and the partnering countries. The group of LinC members who participate in LinC-connect will actively share the knowledge and new connections they create during their trips with their network, the national LinC network. Consequently, the partners in other countries are asked to share the knowledge gained and new contacts with their supporters.
